Welcome to the Central Department of Zoology

Central Department of Zoology (CDZ), established in 1965 AD is one of the thirteen Central Departments under Institute of Science and Technology (IOST) of Tribhuvan University. It runs Masters and PhD programs in Zoology. There are four major specializations: Ecology, Entomology, Fish and Fisheries and Parasitology at M.Sc. level and Ph.D. programs have been running with improved research facilities at the Department.

The Department conducts researches in various fields of Zoology. Till today, over thousand high level manpower of Zoology are produced from CDZ who have been working mostly in various fields of Zoology in governmental and non-governmental institutions.
